Browsing

14 oz Package of firm or extra firm tofu (from refrigerator section)

½ teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons onion powder

2 tablespoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon of dried, chopped basil (approximate)

Olive oil

Drain water from tofu.

1. Cut tofu into slices approximately 1/8 in thick (tofu cut too thickly, may be somewhat spongy while tofu cut too thinly may crumble). Then cut tofu slices lengthwise and finally cut into 1/8 inch rectangle shaped chunks.

2. In a medium size mixing bowl, combine tofu gently stir in first three seasonings.

3. Add about 1 teaspoon of olive oil to a frying pan and turn on low heat.

4. Add tofu mixture. Lightly sprinkle chopped basil onto tofu.

5. Allow to cook on low heat for approximately 55 minutes, stirring occasionally. Tofu should be golden brown when cooked.

If necessary, add salt to taste.

YUM I love tofu! that was a good tip with the slow cooking, I like to use a lot of spices, thyme-rosemary maybe some citrus fruit peels etc. Good recipe. keep it up.
